Armed Guard License Requirement

Requirements for Firearm Control Card in Illinois
In Illinois, all Armed security officers must be at least 21 years old. Armed guard license requirements mandate security officers to complete a 40-hour training course and must pass a written exam and a range test.
In Illinois, the firearm training prerequisites can be waived on the basis of already having law enforcement training. If the training was completed out-of-state, security officers will need to submit a detailed training description for review. Any security officer that holds an Illinois firearm instructor registration will also be granted a waiver.
